花蓮港站 Hualien Port Station
花蓮舊名洄瀾，花蓮港於1938年舉行通水典禮，主要提供砂糖輸往日本及環島貨物運輸之需，1963年開放為國際港。北迴鐵路通車後，花蓮與臺灣北部、西部經 由陸路的連結更緊密。花蓮臨太平洋，海岸線全長約175 公里，為各縣市之最，依山傍海，海岸坡度較陡除擁有山海景色，也率先開啟國內搭船賞鯨的風潮。
Hualien was called Huilan. Hualien Port was opened in 1938 to accommodate vessels traveling to Japan with sugar, as well as for transporting goods around Taiwan; it was opened up to the rest of the world in 1963. After the Northern Link opened, ground transportation links between Hualien and Northern and Western Taiwan became closer. Hualien is next to the Pacific Ocean, with a coastline of 175 km, the longest among all the counties and cities in Taiwan. With its back to the mountains and front to the ocean, it has a steeper coast but with great ocean and mountain views. It is also the first place in Taiwan where tourists can board a whale-watching vessel.
